I left my Inspire 1 Remote control out in the rain by accident. To my shock I discovered it the next day FULL of water. I immediately turned it upside down poured out the bucket of water it was holding thru the controls. Then took it apart and disconnected the battery that was amazingly kept sealed from the water, then "Carefully" blew out more water with compressed air without blowing the grease of gears. I did lightly regrease the obvious factory grease since I was in there. I let it sit in the Sun for a few hours, then tried blowing it out again until there was NO sign of a water droplet anywhere before connecting the battery back up. Again I was pleasantly surprised that it Turned on right away and Worked!
I found this helpful! After removing my noisy broke cd/disk drive & putting it back together my imac would not turn on. well atleast thats what it looked like because I couldnt see the screen. I did barely notice and image at an extreme angle while attempting take my imac back apart and thankfully it was just the monitor cable I forgot to plug back in good. Thanks~
