I had a dryer a few years back that did the same thing. It has something to do with a sensor. Until it can be repaired, the repair guy told me to unplug it completely from the wall plugin, for about 10 min. Then plug back in and try again. It worked for a while, but eventually stopped working until I had the sensor replaced. Good luck!
Thank you so much for your great instructions! I had tried twisting both clockwise and counter clockwise to get to the bulbs, but was afraid of breaking it because it is twisted on so tight. Now that I found your instructions, I will apply a bit more elbow grease.
