Connection Problems
You have trouble connecting your camera to Wi-Fi.
Faulty Adapter
This problem occurs when the camera is unable to pick up the WiFi signal. The probable cause for this problem could be a faulty Wi-Fi adapter within the camera.
Weak Signal
A weak signal where the device has been mounted can cause connection problems.
Not Set up With Mydlink Acoount
The camera has to be set up though a d-link account to work properly. Elsewhere several users had difficulties when trying to connect the camera using the mydlink home app. Download app
Make sure have that WiFi connection is always connected with camera for the camera to connect correctly. The App works for most smart phones with internet capabilities.
You will find the camera’s Wi-Fi name and password on Quick install card “come with camera on the box.
- Connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network
- Add your camera to a mydlink account
- Access your camera from the App
Motion detection malfunction
Camera fails to detect movement.
Camera Sensitivity
Make sure the sensitivity is in a fitting range. If sensitivity is higher than it is supposed to be this will cause false alert.
Under Setup in the camera interface is where you can manage sensitivity. On the left side, click on Motion Detection, select Enable. Under Sensitivity, enter a percentage. The higher the number the easier the motions will be detected.
Camera too Close to Windows
Set the camera up away from windows. Shadow light movement seems to cause false detection. So setting the camera away from windows can help.
Low quality videos:
Camera is recording grainy or blurry videos.
Not Enough Memory
Use a big memory storage to get more high quality videos.
Not Staying Connected to Wi-Fi
Make sure the camera is always connected to the WiFi and the signal is strong.
Too Close to Windows
Place the camera indoors and away from the glare of windows or glasses.
LED Lights:
This indicator is used to show the availability and strength of the wireless networks. Some users have reported blinking of the indicator while others would like to turn it off.
What the Different Lights Mean
The led lights describe the status for the camera : Blinking Orange means ready but not connected to the WiFi. Solid Green means the camera is connected to the WiFi. Blinking Red LED will blink during the reset process. To replace or remove the indicator, use this guide
Check the password status during the connection
You may need to put the password in again to connect to Wi-Fi.
Not Recording To MicroSD:
You can’t get the camera to record onto SD cards, or any can only get snapshots but not videos.
Not Set up in D'link Account
The most likely cause of being unable to record on a microSD card is that it has not been set up through the camera’s dlink account. This can be done through selecting the settings option for the camera and scrolling to advanced settings in your dlink account.
SD isn't Formatted Correctly
Some users have found that it is not formatted correctly and shows there is no space on the SD.
Open an internet browser and type the IP address of your camera into the address bar. When prompted, enter the username and password for the camera (The default username is admin with no password) Click the Setup Tab and then click SD Management on the left side. Click Format SD Card
Faulty Firmware
The installed firmware may have uploaded incorrectly, or is out of date. Open a web browser, and enter your cameras IP address. Enter your camera's username and password. Click on Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade. Then click Browse, select the downloaded firmware, and then click the upload button.

Mine too, it always seems to miss critical events and times when I've needed to use footage as confirmation there has been people coming and going, it has failed to capture it.

I need help, I got a DCS-8010LH camera, but it seems that wont turn on, I dont know if it the adapter o what, but the LED light wont turn on in any color, Im trying to paired it with the app but it seems like just doesnt give any signal at all. Worked for 3 days then it died, havent been able to connect again just flashing orange forever network interface dissapeared, reset doesnt work, garbage product produced way to cheap, the code is terrible aswell :/

The setup-connection problem, DCS-936L-50D6 Dlink Camera, We change to the Camera Wifi as instructed and the orange light is flashing, but we’re notified that “No Camera is Detected” Please make sure you’re logged into the Camera Wifi and the orange light is flashing, try again. We’ve done this at least 20 times. Does anyone have a solution for this?

I just bought one and I went to put an SD card in it and SD card went inside the camera now I don't know how to get it out…… went past SD card slot in into the actual camera and Slidin moving all around inside of it

to remove the SD card all you have to do is press on the card as if you are trying to push the card further into the camera it is spring loaded and should pop out a little. Still need a strong grip to withdraw the SD card.

Hello i have a dcs-930L which will not connect wirelessly with my wifi unless i use cable. i have tried everything i know. However it will connect to an extender which bears the settings of my network. What a puzzle ! Please help

Hi..I previously had both my cameras,set up with bell Canada…I changed carriers now xplornet and I have the ax3000 router good signal but I cannot get my cameras on wifi and my Bluetooth will not Pair..prior my Bluetooth did pair..also I tried hooking up to Alexa…not working…eed this device to work..ty..

I have everything set up correctly plugged and set up to my Wi-Fi one problem I'm having 1 minute delay when UPS delivery shows up at my front door step leaves my package at the door gets into his vehicle drives away which I can hear him driving away I'm looking at the camera I'm just seeing him put package at the front door step but he's not at the door so there's a minute delay need to fix it

Camera freezes, then when you logout and login again you get a black screen with a circle rotating. Also getting message to turn on data to get better streaming. Customer service says need WiFi booster, now camera does not work even sitting beside router. Will never buy again.

When viewing my Events or Live no matter what. When. Or where, or which device, I am shown only half the picture while the other half is totally and completely black? Picture is sideways and when I click for full screen image it’s upside down. Turning the orientation of my phone does not correct the problem. The camera sits on the floor and is stationary. The company no longer provide support for the 8300 LH. Any ideas gratefully accepted

This camera is complete junk. My mom had a stroke and I NEED a reliable camera. When I log in it's a black square with a spinning circle. When I go into settings every option is a spinning circle. Move it closer to the router? I need it to be where my mom is not next to the router. Getting replaced ASAP

Too much bad camera and quality and the price expensive to much. Some time or always the camera been hot and not clean video. If you changed your internet Wi-Fi they blocked your camera has been red light you can’t connect again. Support the company same support in the supermarket they don’t no really bad stuff and camera.
