The red light never shows up on my camera what should I do (I need an answer ASAP!) ☹️

I have a problem with the viewfinder of my instax mini 8. i have accidentally spilled my alcohol inside my bag and unfortunately, it went through the viewfinder and now it's all black.

I wanted to know if there are any way to fix this?

I feel like my lens doesn't do anything, I look through the eye whole (view finder?) and cover the lens and can see perfectly, the settings on the camera don't change the light never moves.. Is something wrong?

I dont recall ever dropping my camera. When I turn it on the lens pop out as usual and only one light turns on..... as usual and the red light on the back of the camera is off. It's only when I press the shutter button that it goes crazy; The flash doesn't turn off, all 4 lights on top of the lens keep blinking and the light at the rear of the camera is on. Ive tried changing the film and the batteries multiple times but it jest work. Someone please help xxxx

I just recently got my Instax camera. I started using the first cartridge of films and it worked perfectly fine the first few times. Right after, every time I take a picture the film won't print out. I have to turn it off, and as soon as I power it back on, the film prints out. Does anyone know the reason for this? It's really annoying me and I don't know if it's a battery problem, camera, the film or just a manufacture problem. I would appreciate some feedback ASAP!

I've had my Instax for about a week and I've only used it once. I tooked some pic indoors with my new Instax Hello Kitty, with the proper selection (the little house icon) but the film ejects white and then becomes completely black. I replace batteries and the problem still exists. I replace the cartridge with new film, and again, the photos turns BLACK. The problem only happen indoors. Outdoors the performance is ok, not amazing, but ok. Do you have any idea?

Every time I take a photo it just comes out black and nothing is delevoped.

Was having this problem and couldn't find a solution online. Just took everything apart, examined the internal components and realized that the gears connected to the motor were jammed. Gently pried at them with a flathead screwdriver and ended up freeing them up. Inserted the batteries to give it a test and boom, she works like new! Added some additional lubricant to the gears to prevent another jam from happened and sealed her back up. If you are having the issue of the 4 blinking lights on the viewfinder and you are unable to take a photo even after changing the batteries and film cartridge, I highly suggest you try this. Odds are its a jam in the gears.

Ok so about half the comments on here describe almost exactly the same problem I had (film only coming out half and then getting stuck / not coming out at all, all the orange lights blinking, little red light staying on, no whizzy noise when I turned it on, pressing the button not making a click etc ). Couldn't find answers to the problem anywhere on the internet other than the fact that people were clearly having the same issue, but eventually got out my paper instruction booklet that I luckily kept and it said to change the batteries with the lens OUT, which was not what I had been doing at all. As soon as I did it properly it came miraculously back to life; I haven't had any problems since. Hope this helps :))

Hi! my " roller " which surrounds the film & lens is broken, which also allows a lot of light 2 come in, causing super bright photos. The rubber like piece isn't attached anymore & would like 2 know if i can buy a replacement part or fix it some other way? thank you!

my film comes out stained and the picture has a yellow tint to it. you cant see half the picture because of the stain and the back of the picture has light purple staines

is there a place you can take a polaroid to be fixed, or do i just have to buy a whole new one? i can't take apart mine (it's got the red light of death) because i don't have the manual, and i don't want to ruin it even more than it already is.

I recently bought my new polaroid camera. I have already taken 3 successful pics. The last time I tried, the camera made a shutter noise and everything, bu the picture just never printed. I opened the back to see if the film was in there. I didn't move the film but once I closed it, the count went from 7 to S. I tried to take a pic and it went to 10 but nothing printed out. The camera was a birthday gift from my parents and I don't want to upset them by telling them... I don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP! :(

Everytime I turn on my camera it automatically takes a photo without me touching the shutter button. I've never dropped it, I don't understand whats going on & its just wasting film.

My slot is somehow damaged and I don't know how to properly clean it. Basically the photo develops but it has a vertical line in the place the slot should be damaged.

There's a giant black/dark green splotch on the bottom right of the photo I took. I'm not sure what i did wrong.. I made sure not to bend it or anything, or shake it, and wasn't blocking the camera view or anything. :/ I've only used the camera once, but i'm afraid to take more pictures, because I dont exactly have the money to keep buying film. :(

Same thing has happened to me where my pictures won't print out . I have changed the batteries and added a new film pack. Before doing that make sure to open the back up (where you add film) and push the grey hook down before adding new film. Should print out right away after that!

Hi! I put in new Duracell alkaline batteries for my camera but the light on my camera will still not turn on and therefore I can't take any pictures. Any suggestions as to what is causing this?

Please help! my camra is almotr a year old and has always worked propperly untill recentsly. Some photos prints well and others not so muhc. the photo will layer so for example photo 1 is a flower on the left side of the frame, photo two is on the right the fill either prints white film or no film comes out and then the next picture has those two picturde of flowers next to each other. At first when I took photos they wouldn’t print, the film getting stuck in the cartridge which meant I had to pull them out, even then there was no ink on them. Recently, the camera has stopped working, turning from the red light on the back still working but the flash not going off and no photos being taken/no other lights working, to the camera completely not turning on. I’ve had this camera for about 3 years and it only started acting up a few months ago. I’ve tried replacing the batteries but that didn’t work.

I took my 18th photo with my Polaroid after many successful uses and I took a picture and it stopped printing after it was 3/4 of the way out. Hello, I was riding my bike a few days ago and when I took my Install Mini 9 out of my bag, the aperture mechanism seemed to be a bit off. I then noticed that it was essentially skipping the “indoor” mode. As in it can now only select cloudy, bright, ultra bright and high key. is there any way that I can fix this?

My intact mini 8 doesn’t want to take on, the batteries are new it has new film. The little orange light to change fliters from sun to cloudy is not on.

My lense works but the thing that opens inside to take the picture doesn't always open and I don't know why. Is there something I can do? It's been like this since I got it.

I was trying to take a picture with my Instax Mini 9 and I tried to eject the protective layer by taking a picture, as you’re supposed to. But it didn’t eject, and now it’s stuck, and I don’t want to pull it or I’m afraid I’ll destroy the camera. Is there any advice you could give me?

I accidentally dropped my Instax mini 9 and no harm was done but the pictures started showing up black so I changed the film and the first picture turned out great but then they went back to black and I don't know how to fix it.

Hello! I’ve had my Polaroid for a couple years now. Every once in a while, a photo that I took would come out completely black. The longer I’ve had it, the more frequent this issue becomes. It’s gotten to the point where I only get one picture out of ever 10-15 I try to take. The rest of them are all black. The flash is working, I’ve tried out all the settings , I’ve taken far away and close up pictures, I’ve changed film packs … any other suggestions ?

Has anyone had this problem?, I put a new film new batteries and the Lena pops out but just won’t take any pics . I haven’t dropped it anything I push the button to take the pic and nothing happens. Also when I put the film in the number window thingy didn’t change or move.

Hey guys, we had an issue where the film wasn’t coming out, even with with 2x new films. We solved the issue and wanted to share the details in case anybody else ran into the same issue.

We unscrewed the back and re-aligned the springs, and one of the ‘holding-pins’ was out of alignment. We re-aligned it and put it all back together. The springs seem to have been holding it closed as you can imagine. Just make sure those springs are locked in, as they could slide back out again and you then have a new film exposed- which makes it hard to remove once again.

But how do you open up the viewfinder to clean the inside? Please help me!

I have the instax mini 7, and the flash isn’t working, and the pictures are coming out all black. I’ve replaced the batteries, and have taken very good care of this camera, never having had dropped it once. If someone could please help, that would be amazing.

I took a picture with my instax mini 8. I waited 30 minutes and the things is all white :( I would like some help.

I followed all the suggestions and my camera is still not working. I replaced the batteries, I replaced the film, I took it apart and put it back together, and it’s still not working. The red light by the viewfinder is on and the lights by the lens are flashing. When I open the lens there is a slight delay but nothing too big. Should I just buy a new one? Or hire someone to fix it?

My camera has been taking pictures just fine but every time I take a picture, there's white lines that pop up on the picture, which take away from the picture as a whole. What can I do to fix this?

My viewfinder is off by almost half the distance of the center circle. The center circle will give me a photo that is on the left and at the bottom of the page. I have burned thru 5 photos to find this out.

the red light in the back is on but the button showing the lighting option suggested won’t turn on and therefore won’t take the picture. I have used many pairs of batteries(the right kind and in the right place). There was one time where all of the options were lit up but I still couldn’t take the picture. WTF is going on?(Yes, I have film in my camera I’m not a pea brain and i also replaced the pack with a new one)

My instax mini 8 lost the little metal plate in the battery casing. The red light comes on but that's all it will do. Is the metal plate necessary in order for the camera to work?

I haven’t used my camera I’m a while and I recently put new batteries in it and will not work. There is no indicator that it is on or working and I have no idea what is wrong.

I just recently got the camera as a gift, and I read all the instructions. Got the camera all set up and film loaded. First picture came out great! The rest however kept coming out black. In any lighting with different settings, didn't matter. Changed the batteries just in case and thought maybe it was a bad pack of film. Loaded up a new pack of film and once again, first picture came out great, then the rest black. I never opened the back. I store the camera in a safe place. Never dropped it. So I'm kind of stumped on what's going on. I'm about to give up and have it get returned so the person who bought it for me can have their money back. Anything helps thank you!

My mini 8 camera is not working.

The retract button doesn't make the lens pop out. I can manually retract it by slipping my fingernail in and pulling it slightly. When I manually retract it that orange lights all light up and continuously blink. I did find out my son trying to put a credit card inside ?

Does anyone know of a place to get these worked on?

Well they said the camera need to used alkaline LR6 1.5V but I already used it but still the camera not working and there are red light appear at the side of the viewfinder. Can someone help me?

When I take pictures they come out very dark and sometimes even all black. I’ve had this camera for a while now and it didn’t do this until a little more recently. I didn’t know if maybe the film was old because I didn’t use it for a while but I even bought new film.

hey fujifilm! quick question bout resetting the mini 8 - my nephew was playing with the camera and clicked the shoot button multiple times while camera was off. i noticed that once i put in film, the camera automatically started shooting out films that were shot by my nephew. i have no clue how many times he clicked the button but i don’t want to waste film to find out, is there a way to reset the camera? thanks!

The oil producer part rolls for at least 3 film, doesn't take any film out, and button doesn't work. The battery light ends up flashing, i changed the batteries. Not sure what's wrong but I'm pretty frustrated about it :(

This occured after the photo was jammed in the camera. Since that moment nothing works anymore. This a relativly new camera, I have no receipt so i can’t go back to the store.

Was told the the batteries were replaced. Had Static Red Light on viewfinder but no lights on the exposure/ring/ lens.

Changed battery and works like new.

Film has 3 pictures left but when I press the button to take a picture the led light flashes red and nothing happens.

I saw specks of muck through the view finder, so I cleaned with cotton bud, can’t see anything through it now, just completely black. It was working fine before I cleaned it. What can I do? Still takes photos but I’m unable to take good ones.

My instax mini 8 was working find and my “smart ass” decided to clean the viewfinder with cotton ball damped with alcohol and it went completely black is there any fix for this?

How to clean a mini 8 ink leak

The red flashing is still happening despite new batteries, new film. The lens opens fine. No film comes out, no shutter sound. It's brand new. Technology sucks. It's killing us all. This is another landfill item. Crap!

I have done all the trouble shooting and my Instax Mini 11 still will not work. I have replaced the batteries, I have cleaned the camera, I replaced the old film with new film, nothing works. I have only used 2 10 packs of film in this camera. I have not dropped it. However no lights come on it doesn't work. How do I fix this?

Just got a mini 8 one of these, and everythings good besides the aperture feature is a bit iffy. The light doesn't indicate and change onto the mode i rotate the lens onto. It works for the house icon, but doesn't change to the other options. Wondering how I fix this? thanks :)

my aperture options won't change over besides the house icon, tried taking a shot of my friends outdoors and it came out black. Even though I rotated the lens onto the sunny icon (indicating outdoors) wondering how I can fix this? Would really appreciate it. Indoors is fine and so is everything else just can't seem to change the aperture options?

Ich habe die instax mini 9 bei der alle LEDs Orange leuchten nur das Haus leuchtet konstant. Hab die Kamera schon zerlegt und in ausgangsstellung gebracht aber ohne Erfolg 😥

Was könnte noch die Ursache dafür sein

P.s Batterien sind schon getauscht und hab auch verschiedene Hersteller ausprobiert
