How to change battery for 750Li?
How to change battery on BMW 750Li. I heard only dealership can change the battery because of programming issue. Is that correct?

Deepak Patel. you can install the battery yourself, but it needs to be electronically registered for it to last longer then a few weeks. Check this out for further clarification on the registration. I think for a Car the price and quality of the BMW, I'd get it done the way BMW suggest. Either through the dealer or an independent garage that has the proper tools. Hope this helps, good luck.

BMW supplied battery $389, autozone type battery $150-$190. In both instances battery needs to be registered to the car. Dealership cost $163.

Independent BMW shop did registration for our car. They charged $50. Later I found that there is an app for iOS and Android that can do it for you. But, you will need to buy their OBDII adapter (connects via WiFi). If you will continue use BMWs, probably it is a good investment.

Yes, I encountered this situation a few years ago
and the cost was $600+. If you install a battery
Yourself, the dealership will not program it, they insist on installing their battery.
Initially I called AAA who stated they were not
Allowed to replace my battery because of the BMW
