The TDK Life on Record A33 is a weatherproof Bluetooth speaker. It was released in 2012 and is now discontinued.

Problem with connect AC/DC.

I bought another AC adapter, same thing, do not connect. I guess the charging port on the speaker may loose. I hope I can up date a picture. When I just plug in a adapter, nothing happened. Then I push the head of the wire up, It was connected. How can I fix this? or open this part?

Hi,

Here is a not very good video which shows how someone replaced the batteries in a A33. While that is not your problem I know, what it does show , at 2 seconds into the video (do not miss it - pause the video) is that you can gain access to the unit by unscrewing a panel from the bottom and also that the batteries are plugged in via a connector (this is shown later), so that you can disconnect them, making it safer (prevent electrical problems occurring) while you are working on it.

Hopefully with the panel off you will be able to see how to gain access to the DC power socket to effect repairs or replacement.

Hopefully this is of some help

You can fix it, but it will not be pretty. The only way to fix it, is to cut the plastic away from the plug. It is fairly soft and can be cut using utility knife but be careful not to go beyond the compartment. The factory DC plug has metal tabs instead of wires, the + is the one in back - is near edge and not sure if the 3rd tab on right does anything. Replace with plug with similar positive on center pin plug. It is helpful to keep the tabs from old plug, make tiny hole, solder new plug wires to the tabs, then solder tabs to board. This fixed the plug for me and kept the sound. Wish I had tried re-soldering the factory tabs to the board first to see if that was the cause.. but got frustrated and had ripped it out before thinking of that..

I don't recommend fixing the DC power socket. that part in sealed in its own compartment held with 4 screws and glued airtight to produced the great bass sound. The sound quality will be ruined once you do away with all the hard and soft glues. best just to jimmy rig the plug and just not move the speak too much. Mine had been working great for 10 years,, untill i also had the socket prob;em, only made things worse now.
