How to fix the power button and no response in the screen

Have you proved that the power adapter is working? If you have a DMM (Digital Multimeter) or know someone who does, check that the output of the charger is 19V DC, when you connect the DMM, using the Voltmeter function, across the output lead.

If there is no or low output from the adapter (use a known working wall outlet) then the charger is faulty and will need to be replaced. Also the battery in the laptop will probably be flat and will have to be charged with the new charger before attempting to turn on the laptop.

If it is alright, check with a magnifying glass, that the charging port in the laptop is OK and that the centre pin is not bent or broken.

If the above checks prove OK, remove the battery (and charger if connected) and hold the power button on for about 20-30 seconds, release the button, re-install the battery and connect the charger and see if there is any charging indication from the laptop.

If there is, allow the battery to charge for a while before you try to turn on the laptop. (Do so with the charger still connected). If it turns on, check the state of charge of the battery and if below 30 % shutdown laptop and allow battery to fully charge before attempting to turn it on again - this time by the battery alone, not with the charger.

If there is no indication that the battery is charging, try turning on the laptop anyway and if still no good it will have to be opened to see where the problem lies.
