Swapped same model broken for new. Only removed cables from the unit and plugged into new. The input on TV no longer can be selected for DVD. It used to with the old one, when the DVD player was on. Suggestions?

Most TVs can select inputs if the inputs are on (DVD Player, CD Player, Game Console).

  • Check Cables / Cable Connections - Composite / Component ( Colors swapped unintentionally.
  • Check new player if On
  • Transfer inputs from input 1 to 2 (Composite) most TVs have more than 1 composite inputs
  • Use another cable if available.

*If unsuccessful possible defective player.

Use composite video to do set up. Send component video signals progressive scan. No component video but now no signal at composite so cannot show setup again with the remote. Where to go next?

As the manual of the device shows, there are three ways to connect the device to the TV.

1-AV cable(Yellow white Red)

2-Component cable(Green Blue Red)/ for the Progressive scan

3-S-Video/for the Progressive scan .

A-Turn off the device and the TV.

B-Use the AV cable to connect them.

C-Turn on the DVD Player and your TV

D-Select the VIDEO INPUT on your TV:

The goal is to see the DVD player's splash screen on your

TV. To do this, select the Video Input channel on your TV

that corresponds with the input the player is plugged into.(AV mode)

This procedure differs among TVs, but is normally done by

pressing the VIDEO IN or INPUT button on the TV's remote

control to select the Video Input.

E-Check other TV’s if step D does not work.

It is not so difficult to do.Just look at the rear panel carefully. This unit equipped with AV

outputs ,try to use them(Video and Audio ports:R and L).

Component outputs give you much better video quality but I think that you need to use audio outputs yet. Try them in the second stage if the TV accepts Y/Pb/Pr connections as well.
