Hi,
Try plugging in a USB mouse and then go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Mouse. There should be an option to disable the Touchpad. If it is not there try disabling it in Device Manager.
If this solves the problem then it may be that your Touchpad is playing up.

System often switches from one operation to another without depressing keys / buttons and is very frustrating for the operator.
Polerase check and repair where necessary.
