Yanked off the Mode connector... now what?

So I was trying to reset the display connectors because I had the common problem of LCD screen going dark. But when I removed the back case panel, and had to remove the connector for the mode settings, which is attached to get the entire back cover off, instead of just sliding it up and out, I yanked off the entire housing. Is it ruined now? There seems to be no way to just pop it back into place.

Hi,

I do not know if you were using it but here is a link to the Ifixit repair guide(s) for your camera. Hopefully there will be some information contained in the various guides that will help you.

Yes, I looked at those guides, but those are all "normal" repairs, like replacing lenses, screens, etc. My question is something I did out of the ordinary. Instead of pulling out a connector, I yanked off the entire housing for it. So if there is an expert out there on Canon cameras, my question is should I spend my time taking it into a repair shop, or is this toast now? (To be more specific, basically, I yanked out the entire white connector housing for the connector that attaches to the mode selector wheel. So now, I can't select a new mode at all - portrait, tv, live, p, av, m, etc. The connection to that is gone.) Is this a smoldering job, or is it not even worth trying?
