Perform the steps listed on page 231 of the user manual for error code 30: "Turn the power switch to <OFF> and <ON> again or re-install the battery" (see Pages 26-27 for instructions). This step might need to be repeated a couple of times. Also, notice the advice to use a Cannon lens.
