Why is the paper coming out all black?

Every time I print now, the paper comes out half black so that I can't read the doc. Was working fine until now but very frustrating. I am wondering if the machine can be fixed or do I need to replace it?

Thanks

Hi Sir

My Samsung Printer when printing its good, but when i take copy the page is fully black , whats the reason ?

Hi @ Nived Raj,

It appears as though the scanner unit may be faulty.

Copying is the same as scanning, it uses the same hardware.

When copying the "scanned" image is printed straight after the scanning process is finished whilst when scanning, the scanned image is stored in the printer memory so that it can be retrieved later to either send as email, to file etc.

Can you hear (see?) the scanner bar or light moving across the scanner glass?

If your printer has an ADF does it work when copying or scanning?

What is the model number of your printer?

Printer Model SAMSUNG SCX-3405F, and now the copying and scanning not working, only printing

Hi @Nived Raj,

Here'a link to the relevant page in the service manual which outlines the possible causes of your problem.

Hopefully this is of some help

Have you tried another toner cartridge? Black print can be caused by several things such as a defective or leaky toner cartridge, paper scraps stuck in the imaging or fusing rollers.

Yeah agree with DrGlowire. You should check printouts quality - with another toner-cartridge. Mostly - there are problems with them.

You can also try this especially for HP, Samsung brands:

Step by step solution..

Try these easy fixes for better quality laser printing. If your issues persist, the problem is more likely to be due to supplies or hardware.

  • Check your print driver to make sure you have the correct paper or media selected.
  • Double check that the paper loaded in the tray matches the type selected in the printer driver.
  • In some laser printers, the fuser has an adjustment for paper type. If your printer’s fuser can be adjusted manually, check to see that it’s set properly but be aware: fusers get very hot so exercise caution.
  • Check out your toner cartridges, imaging unit(s) and the fuser for damage. These components vary by model and manufacturer so it’s best to refer to the User Guide.
  • If you’ve got smudge marks, print several blank sheets of paper and they will eventually fade away
