Can I fix the dead pixels on the screen of my Gameboy Pocket?

I got this red Gameboy Pocket from eBay a few weeks ago for >$20. It had a completely clean casing, small scratches on the glass lens, but no rust or anything on the inside and works flawlessly. The only thing wrong with it, is that it has one tiny black spot on the screen. This issue resembles dead pixels, but I could be wrong. I was wondering if there is a fix for it or not. I have seen relatively easy fixes for dead pixels on color LCD's with back lights, but I am not sure if this applies to low-pixel-count monochrome LCD's.

Any feedback is appreciated,

Thanks!

@dr_neon since we cannot see what your screen shows (consider posting some images with your question by using this guide Adding images to an existing question ) and going by your description alone, It does sound like you most likely will need a new display.

I think the method of applying a damp cloth to the area and then turning the screen on would work, because I had a problem with stuck pixels on my Gameboy Advanced, and I tried that method, and it did the trick. Just keep in mind that it will be likely that you will have to disassemble the Gameboy to properly get to the screen, because of the plastic shield.
