Updated to Windows 10 and bluetooth driver is missing.

Hi, i updated my system to windows 10 and noticed that the bluetooth wasn't there in device manager or showing in settings. I went to HP's site to download the drivers (i tested all that i could get my hands on) but none worked, i even tried driver booster but still nothing. My wifi still works tho.

Please is there anyway to get the bluetooth back or is it a hardware problem? Thanks.

Hi @temmyd1 ,

Just double checking that there isn't a BT device appearing in Device Manager under "Other Devices' or 'Hidden devices' (click on View tab)

Have you checked in BIOS in case there is an enable/disable option for BT?

Hi @temmyd1, check on your laptop keyboard F1 to F12 area, if there is any bleutooth icon, you might need to press Fn Key + the bluetooth key to enable.

Hi @salmonjapan and @jayeff, I have checked my BIOS and there is no Bluetooth option, also there isn't any Bluetooth icon on my on my keyboard. I usually use my wifi or radio button for both wifi and Bluetooth. I can upload some pictures if you want.

Was it working before you updated to Win 10?

What OS did you update from?

What is the full model number of your laptop?

You may have to access the WLAN card to see what make and model it is. According to the service manual there are 3 different brand combo WiFi/BT cards available for the laptop

You only have to access it to find out the info and to check that it seems installed OK.

Once that is known we can go on from there.

Here you go! It's technically a Windows 8.1 x64 Driver, but 10 and 8s driver framework has almost always been cross compatible for me. Good luck!

You can try this method below and solve the issue.

  1. Reset your computer
  2. check bluetooth setting
  3. Reset your drivers
  4. Run bluetooth troubleshooter
  5. Use startup repair
