Proximity sensor not working with any replacement

Hi, I have now had two iPhone 6’s that have had problems with the proximity sensor. Even if I put my finger on the screen it does not turn off the display.

I have tried to take the flex cable out of the screen housing and put my finger on top of the sensor. That also didn’t work.

Even swapping it out with other sensors have not yielded positive results.

Can this be due to a hardware failure on the logic board?

Did anything happen to your phone prior to this issue, such as a drop, other damage, repair attempt or contact with water?

Given the tests you have run to isolate the problem, you may very well have a logic board issue. I would just try a hard reset or even a full backup/restore first just to be certain.

If that doesn't work, then consider having your phone looked at by an experienced micro-solderer.

No, there hasn’t been any damage prior to the issue, not that I can think of anyway. Tried the hard restore, but nothing has happened so far. I just hoped some others experienced the same issue and could verify that it’s a logic board issue.
