Hello, I am needing help on fixing on my ps3 super slim. I'm trying to play a game on it and it spins then stops about three times, and it won't show the disc icon with the name of the game. Can anyone help me with this situation??

When a disc is loaded, the system attempts to read the TOC (table of contents) of the disc. This is the spinning that you hear. If the TOC is not readable, the spinning stops. This will be attempted 3 times (sometimes more). In your case, the disc is not readable. This can be as simple as dirt on the DVD lens or a failure of the laser itself. If you can gain access to the drive, try cleaning the lens (carefully) using a cotton swab and alcohol. This may resolve the problem. If not, then replace the drive.
You can get the laser assembly for around $15 and the entire drive for around $40.

the game im getting issues with is Driver San Francisco where everything is fine until i try and load the mission where i prove to jones that i can "shift" as i get to the loading screen where within 90 seconds the disc will completley stop spinning
I replaced the entire set up. It read the disk finem then when I came back to it, it stopped. It just spins and clicks.

Hi @therealrjrios try with another disc type, e.g. dvd video.

Hello @salmonjapan , yes every single game I had did not work. as I did mention in my question, it won't show the disc icon with the name of the game.

Mine plays cd’s and dvd’s but doesn’t play or ID any of the Game disc’s?. It’s like it starts to spin up and actually Read the Game disc and then fails to relay or read the
data ?

Forgot to mention that i did install a brand new blueray dvd drive.
