My phone has just a black screen but my phone is still on and calls and everything is coming through. Before all of this happened though I had low battery, I’ve tried everything but nothing has worked. Will letting the phone charge for a while and then try hard resetting it work?

Have you opened up the device to replace the battery?
Disconnecting and re-connecting the screen while the battery is connected can cause the backlight circuit to blow. To confirm if this is the case, connect your phone to an iTunes enabled computer and then shine a bright light on the screen. If you can see a dim image, the the backlight is not working. It could either be the screen or the circuit on the logic board.
