Why is there no power to the coolant temp sensor on my 1995 b2300?
I have a new sensor installed but there is no electrical power coming from the connector.

@tony65 Also does your heater work? You saying that you removed the engine made me think it's possible you left the vacuum line to the heater control valve unhooked. It's very easy to overlook, coworkers of mine and myself have done it ourselves changing head gaskets on a Ranger.

Heater works fine. All vacuum lines have been checked. I think the no power to the sensor is causing it to lean out or flood up.It is worse when it is cold . I had no issues before I took the motor out. It ran perfect.

Hey, Carl. Is this the sensor with 2 wires or 3? And what was the initial issue that led you to replace the sensor? Does your gauge not work, or does the car run poorly?

It is the 2 wires. I completely replaced all gaskets and seals. Gauge does not work and runs poorly especially when cold. I had no issues before I started work on it.

I had to pull the motor to do all the work that was necessary.

@tony65 With the key on, take a paper clip or small jumper wire and short the two wires together at the connector. See if the gauge pegs out to H and let me know what happens
