So the night before I was using my laptop watching netflix and fell asleep so it drained. I comeback charged it and turn it on and now it shows 100 percent charge which i know is false. My charger light is green and not showing orange. And I have red battery icon as well.

Ick. It’s time for a new battery. Your full charge capacity is WAY lower then the design capacity.

New battery? Look at the Coconut Battery report on the manufacture date.
@mayer You’re right, but look at the full charge capacity versus the design capacity. Let’s wait and see what a SMC reset does to this matter,
@ajcooke01 - Lets first see if resetting SMC alters things.
@ajcooke01 I had a customer with a similar problem because he had bought a really cheap knock off battery that even weighed less than half of the original.
@mayer thats indeed a red flag. Let’s see if a SMC reset does the trick for this one.
