No Secure Boot and CSM options in asus uefi bios

Hi everyone! Motherboard: asus P8P67 PRO (REV 3.1). In the asus uefi bios I don’t have the secure boot, csm and fast boot options. It must be in “boot” menu, but I have nothing there. I have the last version of bios (Version 3602 2012/11/22). Please, tell me, how can I “unhide” this options? Need it so much. Add 2 images with my uefi bios and another one found in the internet. Thanks a lot!!!.

If the Bios have ONLY UEFI (no Legacy option), you can boot from USB if is formatted FAT32 and not NTFS (or to make UEFI bootable DVD/CD). Many of new PC's/laptop's have only the newer UEFI BIOS (the Legacy Bios is an older option).

1. Download Rufus (freeware, please use the at least the current latest version 3.8)

2. Make a bootable USB flash drive, formatted in FAT32 (!)

3. Put in the PC's, Laptop's USB port.

4. Power on the PC/Laptop and push the ESC (can be F8, F10, etc.. depending on the PC) until you get into the boot selection section.

5. Boot from the USB.

6. Enjoy installing Windows!

I have the same problem, The flsh drive thing work but dosent solve my issue. My motherboard is UEFI but I have the old bios which is called lagecy bios and Id like the have the ASUS UEFI BIOS Utility - EZ Mode interface. Dose anyone know if It can be done or am I wasting my time?

Hi @Daniel Melancon,

The motherboard is nothing to do with UEFI it is the BIOS/UEFI that determines this so could you perhaps reword that question? Perhaps you are talking about the hard drive?

Hi @mememe93 ,

Look under the Advanced tab in BIOS to enable Legacy USB support.

Here’s an image taken from the motherboard user manual (Sect 3.18) which shows the options.

Hi @mememe93 ,

Have you tried "load optimized defaults" when exiting BIOS to see if this restores the BIOS functions to default factory values and resets the BIOS so that it will work with Legacy USB support enabled?

Make sure that you know (and list) which BIOS settings you've already altered to suit you're requirements, so that you can restore them back after doing this

I tried go back to default factory values. Also I tried resetting bios. No result :|

Hi,

Did you try going to the Windows UEFI settings to see if Secure boot is there?

In Win 10 go to Settings > Update & security > Recovery >Click Restart Now > under Advanced startup > Click Troubleshoot > Click Advanced options.

Select UEFI Firmware Settings and check if secure boot or CSM is there.

wait please.. I have win7x64 ultimate. Does it have such settings? If it has, tell me please, where I can find it in win7. Thanks a lot!

p.s. as google says, it doesn't :\

The thing of using Rufus and Fat32 works… It loads Windows 7 Installation but it freezes on the Windows Logo when loading… I dont know what to do because I need to install windows 7 to install some programs that arent compatible with Win10, then do the upgrade to Win10 and all done… but Nope it freezes in the logo, Idk why the !&&* new MoBos are disabling this option!!!! We are supposed to be free to install the %#*@ OS that we want!

I've installed a number of older programs by using the Compatiblity Mode.

Now note: apply on both the installer before installing and on the executable after installation.

Select file, Properties, Compatibility, Compatibilty mode, Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:

" Select Windows 7 or even Vista and finally "Apply" on bottom right of window.

Install and then apply the above to then executable file from Programs Files folder or Programs Files (x86) folder.

Should work. Let us know how it goes.

If program is quite old try Windows XP mode if the others don't work.

OR run something like VirtualBox.

Please read before answering. The problem with this MoBo is that USB isnt available in boot menu. I have the same problem. There is no point discussing Rufus or other solutions if the MoBo wont display USB as bootable device.

GUys I have the Same Problem , If you dont see the boot from USB option , Formatting a flash drive in Fat32 Is still a possibility. EVEN IF YOU DON'T SEE THE OPTION. Once you have formated the flash drive in fat32 make sure your pc/laptop is turned off, plus in flash drive press power. Now HERE YOU DONT WANT TO ENTER BIOS BUtT RATHER PRESS THE KEY THAT WILL PROMPT BOOT PRIORITY. ONCE the prompt window will apear you will find your FLah drive in the list click it and there you have it youve just booted from USB FLASH DRIVE although the option is not showing in BIOS

*************************************************************************************

QUESTION FOR YOU GUYS.

I have an ASUS VivoBook S15 S532FA , ANd I have no boot option in BIOS secure boot is there but missing Lounch CSM, Fast Boot . Does anyone know how or if its possible to instal Lounch CSM and fast boot.
