Why tablet won’t turn on after digitizer replacement?

Got a mini 2 cellular tablet from a friend that said someone replaced a cracked digitizer but then the tablet wouldn’t turn on. So now I’m looking at it and when i took it apart the battery connector didn’t seem fully connected in. I checked the ipad with a tristar tester and everything was ok but it said the battery wasn’t connected. After i disassembled it it took a charge with high amps 2.12 or so then gradually went down to zero in the morning. So now reassembled it wont turn on. Strange that person wanted to keep divice after it wouldn’t work for parts… besides replace screen to see if it (suddenly went bad) Can you think of anything that i’m missing ? Thanks for your thoughts !

I would certainly try a new digitizer to see if that helps. In the meantime, disconnect the digitizer and LCD (disconnect the battery first!) and then connect the iPad to an iTunes enabled computer to see if it boots and is recognized. If it is, then add the LCD first (again…disconnect the battery first!) and test again. If it works, then try to add the digitizer. This should help you identify the bad part if that is the problem.

If the device boots and is recognized but you can’t see anything on the screen, the you need to determine if the backlight and LCD driver circuits are working properly. Try shining a bright light on the screen to see if there is a dim image or not.

If the iPad doesn’t boot with no LCD or digitizer, then you may have a deeper logic board issue.

Disconnected the digitizer and now notice the apple logo at start up then it goes right too connect to itunes, although i did not put it into that mode. I guess easier to put a good LCD on it to see if back light in LCD is the problem ? Thanks in advance !

If you aren’t careful when taking off the digitizer you can easily brake the wire connecting the power and volume buttons to the logic bored. In order to know if this is the reason you should start charging the iPad and see if it turns on.
