Thermal Sensor Temperature Cable

Here’s a listing of the systems thermal cables:

• LCD Temp Sensor cable - Apple P/N 922-9623
• Optical Drive Temp Sensor cable - Apple P/N 922-9624
• HD Drive Temp Sensor cable:

  • Seagate - 922-9216
  • Western Digital - 922-9622

As you can see the cables are physically different! This can be the length of the cable as well as the header. You really should use the correct cables for either the LCD and Optical drive. The HDD is a more difficult issue as it depends on what your drive is.

Does the system still have its original drive or was it upgraded? Many of the current generation of drives don’t have the needed header to even plug in the sensor cable in (SSD’s) and if you do need to be careful on what the drives specs are as your system only has SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) ports so you need to stick with either a SATA II fixed speed drive or an auto sensing drive (one that is able to adjust its data flow to match your systems I/O limitation.
