How can I fix my error while creating a bootcamp partition?
When trying to create partition I get this error message :
Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again.
But when i check my drive under disk utility it says that my drive is already in MacOS External (journaled). What could the problem be? I posted this previously but I haven't got any suggestions. I currently have no partitions. My time machine is dead, can I re-format without back-up? If I don't have any partitions why wont some files transfer? I'm new to Mac OS so please be as descriptive as possible, thanx. by the way, im trying to create a partition for Windows7, if that's of any help.

I've been unable to format or partition several drives, 2.5 & iPod drives that have been previously formatted MS DOS (fat).
