It has almost been 2 years since the launch of Pocof1 the device is still powerful to handle all the tasks. The problem is with the screen as now we are seeing more of oled's the lcd seem pretty dated, I'm satisfied with the performance but display doesn't seem quite good now.

I’m not sure if there is an OLED replacement but I doubt it would work for it. OLED is more energy efficient and has better colors but it not only costs more, it functions differently from LCD as far as I know. If you want a phone with an OLED panel, it would probably be best to buy one that already uses it.

No OLED but a chap on Reddit is developing a custom firmware to drive the AMOLED display from a mi 8. Might want to tag along. Last I checked he was looking for volunteers to test the kernel on. Why don't you take a look.
