iPhone x vdd main shorted

hello folks of repair! got a iphone x with a short on vdd main. after some voltage injction and ice-spray the only part that is getting warm/ not really hot is the power ic (u2700),

I had this kind of scenario allready and after taking the ic off. the short was still there. But that’s another story.

I also found a shorted capacitor (c3190) took it off but the short persist's. I would be greatefull for some sugessions or hint's. Thank you. Phone ist not charging and not turning on. Battery was comepletly drained to 0,2 volts (never sen that before). No sign of damage or drop or water.

Check other components that are connected to the circuits where you found those shorts. Just because those components are getting hot, does not necessarily mean that they are the problem. In some cases they’re perfectly fine, but due to a short elsewhere, it can cause them to get hot. Before pulling them did you make sure they had proper readings? Or did you see them as a heat source and pull them off?

@hootonberg Thank you very much for the hint!

Yes, the c3190 was 0.3 Ohms, measuring off board.

I have measured the pad’s where the c capacitor was and it gave me a short to ground still(0.3 Ohms…)… after i’ve put a known good one back the short was only pulling 0.13A. (this made me even more confused).

But at least it got better than it was before.

But still not turning on. Power supply tells me at 4.5v 0.13 of possible 2A.

Well as it is the vdd main it’s a bit of searching for a needle in a haystack…:)
