After ordering multiple replacement coils off eBay and swapping them, I found that the coil itself was not the issue. The most common issue is with the connector on the motherboard (I believe it's referred to as the NFC FPC connector). There are videos of specialists microsoldering a new connector on the Note on YouTube to fix the problem (VCC repairs IIRC). The reason pushing on the spot below the camera works is because you're forcing a good contact between the coil cable and the connector and the connector and the motherboard. I saw on eBay there are people offering to replace and resolder the connector for around $60. But I tried something given my new understanding of the issue that seems to have completely fixed this (for now at least). If it comes back, I'll just pay the $60. Here's what I did:
-follow the ifixit guide to replace the coil.
-But don't actually replace it
-Just unscrew the metal plate and fold it back
-Then, cut some cardstock the size of the connector and place it on top of the coil cable that is plugged into the connector
-Rescrew the metal plate
-The metal plate with cardstock between it and the cable/connector should now be applying consistent downward pressure on the spot to ensure good contact
-before you replace the back cover, plug it in and see that it charges. You can also test wireless charging since that seems more sensitive to a good connection.
-If all is good, close up the phone and you're done. If not, maybe add another piece of cardstock in between to increase the pressure.
Hope this helps others!

So this started with me last night.
Got stuck at 1% and tried to kill the battery with hi-res games and it wouldn't die after 10 min.
Took my otter box off and put it under a blanket and went to bed and it charged to 60%.
Called T-Mobile and they said it was actually a Samsung software problem, and we're basically SOL until Samsung actually fixes it. Said if it completely dies they will replace it but it's probably just gonna happen again. He recommended factory reset as it has helped for others.
Phone gets down to 4% on the charger for about 15 min. I take it off charger, take the SD and Sim card out and let it sit for 20 min.
Turned it on and im at 27% now…
I have come to 2 conclusions: Samsung is robbing us and seem to not have any plans to fix it, and that the phone is actually charging while the battery logo is flashing, the phone just doesn't recognize it until you restart it. I'm about to see after another 15 min and update.
Edit: charged for 15 more min. Restarted. Stayed at 27% for about a minute, and since typing this edit, I have dropped to 10%

I have a note 1O plus that I have changed the charging port, battery, and coil on over and over again and I am still getting the battery is too cold to charge warning. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

i am having this exact problem and found a youtube video that shows you how to fix this by taking phone apart and replace the charge port. However after reading this the phone started charging on a fast port and its charging pretty quickly now. So im guessing this is a flaw in design or very cheap parts used. Either way Samsung should be ashamed of some crappy design and do the right thing and recall.
