iOS 14 Battery Issue

I recently replaced my iPhone X battery. It worked as expected on iOS 13. Since updating to iOS 14, now the battery’s health registers as significantly degraded, Maximum Capacity is blank, and the battery life is absolutely garbage. Instead of 1 charge a day, I’m changing a minimum of 3 times. I’ve already tried draining and refilling the battery leaving it on the charger for a few hours after 100%, same issue. I’m hoping someone can help me out. Thank you.

That model is soon to be three years old so I wouldn’t be surprised if iOS 14 is more demanding that 13 was and that the battery may need replacement. If you have a windows computer you can download a free program called 3utools. You can use that to check the battery’s max capacity. If you’re on Mac, download coconut battery. Either one will also require you to plug the phone into the computer. If it’s below 85%, I recommend replacement as that’s when people typically notice battery life isn’t normal. You can bring it to a local repair shop or buy a DIY kit on ifixit.

Hi Jesse, I appreciate your response and I will check out that piece of PC software as you recommended. However, as I mentioned in my original question, the battery was recently replace, sometime early-mid summer. The new ifixit battery I installed should have plenty of life ahead of it still.

@ilikemyrealname shoot I forgot you mentioned you replaced it lol. Well still check out those programs I recommended. I know typically when new versions of iOS are released is they'll typically cause problems on older models. I don't think apple spends as much time and resources on developing it for older devices compared to newer ones. Even when I beta tested 14 on my 11 the only glitches I really experienced were the camera would have an issue that required a reboot or my messages app would freeze up for a little bit if I edited someone's contact info within the app. My younger cousin tested 14 on his old iPhone 7 and he said it was atrocious

I went with Coconut Battery on my Mac, thank you again for the suggestion. It shows the battery's health at 100% with only 110 cycles. Seems like iOS 14 isn't liking this new iFixIt battery for some reason. Anybody else having this issue? Anyone have any other thoughts on how to resolve this?

I am having the same issue in my iPhone X. Does anyone figure out the reason and how to fix this issue?

@Ashhar Bilal it could be a defective battery. Try ordering a new one from Mobile Sentrix. They may even have an extended capacity battery. I personally use them in my shop and my customers absolutely love them.
