Screen has gone black with strips of green

My LG TV went black. I could hear the sound at first but no more. Now, screen displays vertical blocks of different colours; black, green, red, blue.

Is the problem similar to the middle coloured block image shown here in the service manual for the TV?

If so the screen will have to be replaced as it cannot be repaired.
