Black screen : LVDS cable replacement?
Hello, I own an early 2013 MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch. Last week I used a rotary tool to remove two stripped T8 screws so that I could tighten my loose hinge. While proceeding with the tool, I accidentally hit the LVDS cable which was close. You can see the extend of damage here:
Since, I have a complete black screen with no backlight. The computer is starting, I hear the startup sound but nothing is showing. Could replace the LVDS cable fix this problem? Or could it be something else?
There is also this strange thing, when I plug the charger into the mac, it automatically starts with the start up sound, I don't have to push the power button. I didn’t have this issue before.
Could it be a logic board problem or could it be the LCD display itself ? It would be a nonsense to replace the LCD display of a seven-year-old computer even though it’s software still runs perfectly.
Thank you in advance.
