Kodi: how to ignore double click on remote (ok/select button)

I cannot use a different remote. This is Kodi 16.1 on Android 5. Neither of these can be updated.

Is there a script, setting, configuration line et that can be set to ignore the second click of the remote OK (or select) button in a given interval?
