I was playing music off my phone. It was working fine then it all of a sudden turned off and won’t turn back on. Where should I look to find the problem and what could the problem be?

Have you checked that the power outlet that the receiver is connected to is working, you didn’t say?
If the outlet is OK then here’s the no power troubleshooting flowchart from the service manual.
This will be a good place to start looking for the problem.
No power problems are not always the same. You have to start testing the power circuits to find out what and where the problem is

The power outlet works fine, I made sure to test it and used another receiver there after I unplugged the pioneer. Thank you for the service manual. I will be checking that out.
