Game Port does not work.

Ok. So, I have the Yoshi 3DS XL. Up until about a year ago, the game port was working. Then, one day I wanted to play Mario Kart DS with my buddies. So, I put in the game card thinking it was going to work. I put it in… and nothing. SO, today I called Nintendo and asked if there was any possible way to get this system repaired. This is what the attendant said word for word. “The parts for the Original 3DS XL are out of stock.” Is there any possible way to fix this?
