MacBook Pro 2017 retina UBC Ports loose and need replacing

My ubc ports on my 2017 macbook pro have always been "loose" to say the least. Is the repair on this the same as a 2015 macbook pro? I have to replace the battery too, so wondering if it is possible for a novice to replace these ports or should I just take it into the shop. Thanks

Replacing the battery is a bit of work which you can review here MacBook Pro 15" Touch Bar 2017 Battery Replacement and here's the needed battery and tool set for the job MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2016-2017) Battery

The USB port assembly is screwed to the case and if the screws are just loose you can tighten them, but you need to take the logic board out to get to them!

I would use some clear nail polish unscrewing the screws one or two turns so you can paint under the head and then tighten again. Be careful you don't over torque the screws. If you need a new one here's the needed part: MacBook Pro Retina (A1706 & A1707 Late 2016-2017) USB-C Board

Hey Dan, thanks for your quick answer! I don't think I was clear what I mean by loose. When I plug in the cord into the usb port it is loose (cord easily becomes unplugged from usb) . I have read where other people have had this problem as well, I am not confident that tightening the port will fix that? I have heard that when the people got their ports replaced, things were much better for them. It is why I am looking to replace them totally. Both sides are horrible, and have been from the start. Wish they had kept the magnetic ones.
