Stopping charging while playing
The notebook is plugged directly into the socket, while I use it normally it stays charged, but when I play a game even plugged in it stops charging!

Hi Kevin,
Okay, there are a couple of different possibilities here. This would seem to be related to the amount of power being drawn by the computer; when you run a video game the power consumption goes way up with the heavy use of graphics.
Now, most computers can run directly off the AC adapter even with the battery unplugged. Not all of them, however, and I can't tell you if yours can or not. With the ones that can't, power always comes from the battery even when it's being charged. I mention this because if it can only run off battery power and you've got a battery that's nearing the end of its life, it won't be able to hold enough charge to supply all the power needed to run the graphics and charge the battery.
The other possibility I see is that your AC adapter is getting old and can no longer supply all the current needed to both charge the battery and power the computer under load.
Either way, it sounds like a power issue; either the battery or the AC adapter. The most straight-forward thing to try is to buy or borrow another AC adapter and see if the problem is still there. If so, then I'd be seriously considering replacing the battery.
Let us know how it goes.
Hi @kevinrafael
Does it do this when on the battery only? Does the laptop even stay on for long when on battery power only?
Check the status of the battery. Create a battery report and compare the design capacity value against the full charge capacity value shown by the report. For a good battery they should nearly be the same. You can also use it to work out how much a full charge really is now as a percentage of the design capacity i.e. Full Charge capacity value x 100 ÷ Design capacity value.
It may be that if the full charge value is low then the charger can't do both i.e. charge the battery and run the laptop. Gaming using more resources i.e. therefore more power needed, than when just browsing etc. so all the power is directed to running the laptop.
Laptop batteries are meant to be used i.e. discharged (although not fully every time) and recharged often. If never being used in this way i.e. the laptop always connected to a fixed power source, it can affect the lifespan of the battery and they can fail prematurely.
