I googled if I can replace a battery with a cracked screen and everywhere said it needs to be replaced first then the battery can be replaced. Is this true?

As long as time is taken and work carefully then yes it can be done. I've replaced loads of batteries on phones with cracked screens. Just go easy.

@lacey6816 No problem, just take your time and use heat on the screen for a while to soften the adhesive first.

You have to remove the screen first to be able to access the battery so that it can be replaced.

If you're going to replace the screen anyway you may as well do it all at once.
