Why is my oculus not charging?

You might have overcharged the battery. Wait 24-30 hours to cool down the charger in the headset

My Oculus has the same issue. After researching and talking with Meta its a common known issue. There is an auto-on feature on the headset the turns on the headset and activities it once it's is picked up or moved. Once the battery depletes below a certain point it won't allow a charge because it keeps trying to turn on and depleting the charge. Meta's response was to exchange it if you have a warnty. If your warranty is out then purchase a new one lol.... There are companies out there that will repair this for you.

I have the same problem. Played it one day, and the next one, stopped working.

• I've tried using 10 different USB cables. Yes, 10! Still no luck.
• Tested the headset with 5 different chargers, just to be sure.
• Switched between various power outlets around my house.
• Left the headset charging for an entire day. Nothing.
• Gave it a few days' break from charging, to see if that was the problem. No luck.
• Usually, it sits on an Anker charging base, but now it's just not responding.
• Hooked it up with a cable to measure the wattage. It shows it's getting power for a second (red light blinks), but then NADA. This repeats a few times before the red light gives up entirely.
• Tried all the reboot tricks - holding the power button for 30 seconds, the power + volume -, power + volume +, even power + both volume buttons. Still, nothing.
• No signs of life on the screen, no sounds, nothing.

Contacted Meta Support, and they told me that since my headset is out of warranty, their only offer is for me to purchase a refurbished replacement through their Out of Warranty (OOW) program. Not repair, BUT INSTEAD: "Buy a Used one".

This is a joke.

I also had the same problem, literally just got it as well, but I flipped the charger around, I unplugged the part of the cable I put into the block and plugged it into the quest 2, then it started charging, hope that helps.

Why won't my son's Oculus headset Charge when I put it on. It shows a battery and it has a line through it. I have a charging station. It will not charge on it. And then I plug it into the wall, and it will still not charge He got it back in February. It's not even a year old. Why am I having this issue

Power off oculus then hold power button and volume down button then boot your oculus it will restart and plug it in hopefully that works for you

Finally, after so many trials with the original charger and all type C charger brands, it wasn't charging or even blinking. I tried a Lenovo laptop-type C charger, and it blinked yellow. After leaving it for a couple of hours, it went to 8%. Now, it is charging fine with its original charger.

Mine had this charging issue as well. Sometimes, it would start charging and randomly stop on its own; sometimes, it'd be completely drained, and sometimes, it'd be fine. The cable and charger didn't matter. I suspect there's a weakness in the internal battery design or assembly.

I tried connecting the meta link cable on mine the other day, and the headset started beeping with some display warning about possible moisture. It was a brand new official Meta Link cable. I disconnected it and inspected the connectors, but it was too late - I think the battery had a short or arced because my computer dock's USB circuit stopped working altogether (I had to replace the dock), and the quest would no longer hold a charge. I can connect my old USB cable to power the headset, but I have no data transfer capability. I'm two months out of warranty, too, which is frustrating. I'm reaching out to Meta to see if they'll still cover it since I first ran into the charging issue months ago.
