Some keys are not working

I replaced the battery on my Mac, I put all things back in place, but some keys are not working now. I have gone over all the connections they seem right.

I replaced the ribbon and push the latch down on the connector, I am not getting the keys to work. The computer is working fine but I am using an external keyboard and mouse.

I replaced the trackpad cable Item # IF123-130-2, with an equivalent from Amazon. I had issues with the trackpad before and when I replaced it the trackpad started to work. I guess I thought this could be related. Is there another cable that could be replaced?

@linternas - Good clue!

I’m suspecting your trackpad is having troubles while the cable connection is independent in this series between the keyboard and trackpad the signals both share the same internal USB pathway. So if one is having issues the other can as well.

So it’s time to replace the trackpad and you might want to replace the cable again if you creased it at the fold points. This cable it finicky as you can damage the foil wires within it when you fold it in half and press on the cable to hold the crease. Instead I use a tongue depressor so I don’t overdo it.
