I'm removing them to clean out a large amount of sugar that was spilled on the keyboard and got under the keys :C

@timtomissus Without being able to give a proper method to remove the keycaps efficiently, I can say that they are only held on by tiny plastic clips on butterfly hinges. These clips break very often, so be gentle.

@cashewclay can you still put the key back on if the clip breaks?

tarafından

@timtomissus Each key cap has two clips and two tabs, as pictured quite well here: https://www.laptop-parts.com/blog/MacBoo...

Check out where the clips are before prying, just so you know exactly where to pry and minimize the chance of breaking clips.

Edit: my partner just informed me that you may have scissor switches, not butterfly keys.

@cashewclay would it be the same protocol if the mac had scissor switches?
