Normally I'd suggest that the screen was damaged and needs to be replaced, but you can't usually get it to come on by squeezing it. That may still be the case, but it would be worth your while to check the display connector where it plugs into the motherboard. Here's what you're looking for.

This is on Step 36 of the Screen Replacement guide for your phone. Note that if you just want to check the display connector, there's a lot of parts removal stuff you'll want to skip since they have nothing to do with just reseating that plug.

I don't have a high degree of confidence that's going to fix it because the connector is pretty much locked down with a metal plate and four screws, but definitely worth checking. If the cable is loose anywhere else then you're just going to have to bite the bullet and replace the screen since nothing else is replaceable.

Is it possible that the problem isn't related to the screen? if it is possible, how high the chances are, and therefore what else may cause this?

@johny2264 In my experience it's extremely rare for screen problems to be related to anything other than the screen, the flex cable or the connectors.

On older LCD based phones we would occasionally see a backlight fuse or circuit go out but this phone has an OLED screen and thus no backlight.

Keep in mind that there are delicate connections between the glass the circuitry is printed on and the flex cable connecting the screen to the phone that are all to easy to break loose, resulting in a non-functional screen or digitizer. In those cases you wouldn't see any physical damage on the screen itself, so the condition of the glass doesn't necessarily tell you anything about whether it works or not.

All in all, very unlikely to be anything other than the screen; I don't know anyone who wouldn't try replacing it as the first step.
