Hi @torranceoliver

Do the reversing lights work?

Looking at the 2003 Ford Explorer park aid wiring diagram there are two fuses associated with the system.

A power supply fuse (#26 passenger compartment fuse block) for the PAM (Parking Aid Module) and the fuse for the reversing lights (#27 passenger compartment fuse block).

Check that both fuses are OK although if the reversing lights work fuse #27 is OK

When reverse gear is selected power is extended from fuse #27 to indicate to the PAM (if it is switched on) to operate. Obviously if fuse #26 is faulty it can't do this.

If the fuses are both OK you may have to start checking the wiring from the Park Aid on/off switch through to the PAM module and also that power is available at the module

Here's the diagnose and testing procedure for the PAM. Whilst you may not have the diagnostic tester it is still helpful as it shows what to check if the PAM is inoperative.

Hopefully this is of some help.
