@andrefontaine Do you know where the heating elements are located? Those would be the next things I would check.

Edit: I think sone of those wires might be directly hooked to the heating elements. Can you test across those with your meter in ohms mode and tell me what you get?

tarafından

added a 2nd picture, there are 4 white wires. 2 on each side of the white box. each side being a side of the bed ( queen size, 2 individual controllers). So one loop has actually 2 indidual wires. Each has continuity. i get 3.3Vdc ( + - ) when preheating.

where do you want me to measure the resistance ? ( + + ) ( - - ) ( + - ) ? i think that each loop is an actual heating element.

tarafından

@andrefontaine Measure each heating element with the resistance mode on your multimeter while the device is unplugged drom the wall outlet.

tarafından

( + + ) = 14.9 ohms and same value for ( - - ) as identified on the second pictire.

What about the (+ -) resistance on both pairs?

Well here is the information. I realized i had a second one and that one works with the same controllers... so they are not the problem. The current is likely VAC not VDC.... on the 2nd blanket, on preheat mode i get 115VAC running through.

When upplugged, the resistance of one loop is 0.68 K ohms ; and the other loop is 0.96 K ohms. Comparing with the blanket that does not heat, those readings are 23 M ohms.

Hence the real problem: the heating wires degrade with use ( and over time ? )... to the point of not heating at all.

Changing the heating wire is not something i am comfortable doing...
