MBP A1278 2012 No life dead...

I have a MBP 2.5Ghz model here that shows no sign of life. When a techie looks at it what would they look for in the beginning? Absolutely nothing happens but it seems to be able to charge a battery, but the green light on the side is not lighting up. I have tried PRAM and SMC resets but have no idea if they were successful... the bashing trick I read aboutin another post has no effect. I can only presume it's alogic board problem.

When a Mac is showing absolutely no signs of life, it is more than likely a Logic Board issue.

Yeah, if the Mac shows no signs of life, there is no way to tell if the SMC has been reset.

Before all hope is lost, try disconnecting all of the components from the Logic Board except for the keyboard. Then, hold the power button for over thirty seconds to completely reset the Logic Board. Plug all the components in, and then plug in the MagSafe adapter. See if the light comes on.

Also, check the DC-in port (the little port that connects MagSafe to the Logic Board). There's a slim chance that the Mac is simply not getting any power. Also, on the side of the Mac, there is a little button that shows the battery power. Press that to see if anything happens.

If all fails, your Logic Board is broken.

Yes it turns out the logic board had suffered some water damage beyond repair sadly. Parts only for the future.

@livfe - Ah, yes, water and anything electronic are not usually good friends. I'm glad you found out what was wrong. I hope you can repair soon!
