Hi @jacq93179

Just for future reference, the model number is JCS860SF1SS and not JCS860SFISS

According to the ERC Failure codes shown on p.2 of the mini manual for the oven, an F7 error code indicates a Shorted matrix or START key.

The manual describes how to test to determine if the problem is in the keypad or the ribbon cable and also how to gain access to it safely.

Here's the parts list for the oven that may help if it is determined that the keypad is the problem and it needs to be replaced.

Not totally sure but I think that the keypad is shown as part #241 Membrane Assembly in the Control panel and Cooktop parts diagram. The manufacturer's part number for the part is WS01F06674 (supplier examples only). Search online for the part number to find suppliers that suit you best. Usually the part number is found on the part itself if you wish to verify this.

As to why it failed, it could be just due to aging components. You won't really know until you can access and inspect it to see if there's anything visibly wrong with it and if nothing is obvious, then you may have to start performing some static tests i.e. no power connected, using a DMM (digital multimeter), but if a component on the board is faulty it may be difficult to source that component but maybe not. Sorry to be so vague but it's hard to be specific as to what is wrong until it can be seen and tested. At least the manual tells you where to begin.

Hi,

Here is an extensive article from appliance express website on F7 error.

https://applianceexpresstx.com/oven-repa...

It lists all models that are covered by the article as well.

Just follow the instructions on each section to narrow down the problem part or read the article and decide if you would rather call a technician.

Hope this helps
