Is my ps5 water damaged?

My girlfriend left my ps5 outside from 7am-9:30am. When I got home I immediately brought it inside and left it by the TV. The next day, I decided to turn it on. I plugged it in and it didn’t even power on. I tried a few more times on a different outlet and still nothing. I popped open the cover with the PS symbol on the top corner and there was a few water droplets that were still wet and not dried out. I grabbed a micro fiber towel and wiped it off. I turned it over and took off the other side of the cover and same thing a few droplets just sitting. I wiped it off as well. From there I decided to let it sit and dry. I’m sure this is from condensation from how cold it was outside. It’s been sitting for 3 days now, is there anything I can do to try and fix this or is this done?

Hey there OP,

If you're suspecting water damage, then the only real way to be sure is to open the system up and visually inspect for any corrosion or other evedence of liquid damage. If you do find that any components are liqud damaged then you are going to want to clean the damage. We do have a wiki on this for laptops, but the information for cleaning should work just the same in this instance.

Usually when I dropped my phone in water i get a bowl put rice in it and leave it to dry it cant take up to between 24 hours or 48 hours and be carefull cause rice grains can easily get into the charging port

@destiny231 you do realize that this is not a phone but a PS5 which is a game console. Next you are probably aware that the myth of using rice for water damage repair is absolutely bogus. The myth has been laid to rest years ago. I suspect a certain degree of AI here so be careful when you use it on here. We do tolerate AI for writing purpose only but not for content.
