Xbox Joystick doesn’t work after installation

Hi! I recently installed new joysticks from Gulikit, I purchased them off Amazon. I followed the I fix it instructions and installed them. The right one works totally fine however, the left one seems to drift to the right but when you click the joystick in it goes back to center slowly. (See video) up and down works fine but left and right won’t do anything on the left joystick. Thanks in advance!

Hi there!

Usually when this happens, it’s caused by a damaged solderpad.

First of all, try to replace the joystick for a new one. When you did removed all the solder, please share again some photo’s with us, so we can inspect the solder pads. If the replacement part didn’t worked, then I’m afraid you need to fix the solder pads..

@dan0 Hey so ive been doing some research and im wondering if this is correct. I used a multimeter to check for continuity between the yellow lines in my photo (see links) and they are good. However the middle pin doesn’t seem to have continuity where the red arrow and line is. If I solder a wire from the middle pin to TP42 (red line in photo) will this fix the issue? Thank you for the help, I have been learning a ton so far.

@dan0 I just realized I think that via connects to TP64, not TP42. Should I solder a wire to TP64 instead of TP42? There is no continuity on TP64 either

Yeah TP42 is definitely for the button. Pretty sure I should solder a wire from middle pin to TP64

Update your controller's firmware. This is the most likely software fix to address a controller specific issue.

Are you experiencing issues with your controller? If so, what kind of problems are you facing-stick drift, input lag, disconnections? Also, which controller are you using (Xbox, PlayStation, or another brand)? Let me know, and I can help troubleshoot.
