Sony Bravia KDL 40BX240 blinks 3 time

@tumelokgatitsoe not sure if you are talking about a BX240 or a BX420 but commonly for your TV the 3X Blink is listed as an DC Regulator/Audio Error. The REG 5V and D3.3V source originating on the main board is monitored for low-voltage conditions by the CPU. A failure causing a 3X shutdown would require replacing the main board

Verify your exact model number for us. Of course, if you can, remove the back cover after you unplug your TV. Then take some good pictures of your circuit boards. Post those with your Question. That way we can see what you see and hopefully help you further with this repair.
