Rather than relying on indirect radiation, convection, or thermal conduction, induction uses the magnetic aspects of the metal pot to oscillate the magnet field so results in resistive heating to cook your food.

Correct connector to UI PCB

Siemens iQ700 Flex induction cooktop EX375FXB1E

My Induction plates fan died. I tried disassembling it but when I did, the UI PCB was partly glued to the glass top. It was retained by the connector so I disconnected it. I hadn't noticed that there were multiple possible connection point on that PCB and there are no markings.

So now that I'm assembling it back, I am left wondering which would be the correct connection point. How can I find this out?

Update (03/27/25)

Adding a few more photos of the teardown in case someone search for ifixit and that model name in case it's useful to them.

Originally I thought the fan was broken because there were a lot of pieces of plastic that were rattling around (from shipping this induction plate despite it being protected by foam in the package) but actually what broke is the plastic below each induction zone. I don't think it's a huge issue so will be testing the it soon (need to find time to hook it up)

Hi @giommm

You would need either the service manual for the cooktop or the schematic for the board to know for sure.

I couldn't find any service information about the model online.

What I did notice though is that when you zoom in on the 2nd image you posted so can see marks on one of the board connector tabs showing that a plug connector may have been there which don't seem to be on the other similar board connectors.

Here's a zoomed in image showing where to look. Note the red arrows pointing to scrape marks and the green arrows showing dents in the tabs whereas they don't seem to be on the others on the board

You may be able to see it more clearly though when looking directly at it.

Thanks, good catch! when looking closer, you're completely right about the mark. Between this and the way the cables of the connectors are bent, I'm pretty sure this is the correct place.

I did try to search for a service manual first, it's annoying when manufacturers like Siemens don't publish it.

I'll test it in a few days and confirm if everything works.
