How to keep backlight on continuously

My problem is that it is difficult for me (67 yrs old) to see the keyboard buttons in normal light conditions on my 2.66 GHz machine.

In low light the backlight comes on and there is no problem.

Is it possible to have the backlight on at all times?

By taping off the light sensor? Where is it located?

Any other solution?

Any disadvantages?

Thanks

Keyboard stickers might solve your problem, here's some black ones: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...

Here are some white ones: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0010X6...

Different Black ones with white lettering: http://www.amazon.com/ENGLISH-NON-TRANSP...

While I've never used it, there's a software solution here. It looks like it gives you the option to leave the backlit keys on all the time. Why don't you give that a try, then let us know if it works or not.

Dear Josh,

Thank you for the tip. It works as promised. However, ik does not really help.

In broad daylight the keyboard still does not light up sufficiently. Not nearly as much as in

low light conditions. Understandable in itself. It is clear that function follows form here.

What would help is clear white lettering instead of light gray.

Thanks again.

I think that the backlighting is probably the same luminance, but due to the bright sunlight, it probably becomes more washed out. It's the same concept of an LCD looking bright in the dark, but dim in the sunlight- even though the backlight's output has remained constant.

Dear Guys,

Thanks for the info. I will go and try to buy a set of

these letter stickers.

There might be demand for a set of actual letterbuttons with

better contrast i.e. clear white - and transparent - lettering

on black background.

Has anybody heard of those?

Best Regards

Frits
