Replacing motor control board

I'm trying to replace my motor control board but 1 of the 3 wires is stuck. The other 2 wires had a clamp but the blue wire does not have any clamp and it's stuck. I used players, i wiggled the part loose a bit and the connection still will not release. I'm trying not to damage this wiring part as it will cause another issue. How can I disconnect the blue wire from the old motor control board with out damaging it so I can connect the washer with the new replacement part?

Here's a link taken from this parts list for an ATF6000 series washer, that has a video that shows how to replace the motor control board.

Hopefully it may be of some help.

Bit hard to see but check if there's a locking tab that needs to be lifted/pushed etc.

What's the corresponding socket on the replacement control board look like? Just a normal plug in type socket or does it have locking tabs or bars that need to be moved when the cable plug is inserted.

Hi @brook4000

If for some reason the problem on the board caused excessive current to flow through that connector it could have caused the contacts in the plug/connector to partially fuse together making it difficult to unplug. Just a theory as to why it is so difficult to remove the cable.

What I would try next is to get two sets of suitable sized pliers and use one to grip the connector on the board and then use the other one to grip the plug (not the wires) and try to pull the plug out from the connector.

Make sure to have a firm grip on the board connector.

Here's an image showing what I mean - hopefully it makes sense as to where to grip the connector if the pliers have room that is

Red arrows mean grip either side of the connector body where you can and green arrow means grip plug body and pull

I appreciate the response. They didn't tell me what i can do to unplug from the old part safely. I need to know how can I disconnect the blue wire from the old motor control board with out damaging it so I can connect the washer with the new replacement part.

Thank you for those steps, I just added 3 pictures.

I miss spoke, it's Grey wire, this is for electrolux model EFLW317TIW1, the motor board part i am attempting to replace is 5304516720

Please let me know your thoughts.

I added 2 more pictures after seeing your comment. 1 picture is that side you mentioned. I tried to use a flat screw driver again and I think I just damaged it more in the picture.

The other picture is the same port on the new replacement part.

I've tried pliers and flat screw driver and no luck at all

I don't know, never seen that type before.

There doesn't seem to be anything obvious that's locking it in place

Perhaps @oldturkey03 or @dadibrokeit might know

My best guess here is there's a locking tab shown in this picture. I added an arrow where I think you need to insert the smallest flat blade screwdriver you have.

Once the screwdriver is inserted, apply a little bit of leverage and hopefully that'll release the latch.

I added another picture inserting a very small flat screwdriver and still no luck.

I can not believe I am the only one who has ever had this issue, there are no online notes/manuals about this assembly.

I've even entertain replacing the entire wire harness line and it's the same exact harness on the other end, unbelievable.

This replacement should have been an easy 2 min fix, not so much.

Any other ideas?

@brook4000 if that rectangular opening on the bottom of the connector is factory, I would try to insert a small J-shaped instrument (pick of some sort:-) and see if that releases the clip.
