The Nintendo Switch is a handheld game console that can be played on the TV via a docking station, or on the go. Released March 3rd, 2017.

Volume up Button not working

I'm trying to repair a Nintendo Switch where the volume up (+) button is not responding. Volume down (-) and Power are working fine.

I allready replaced the flex cable.

Same behaviour. Vol + not working, Vol - and Power are working.

Any idea, what could cause this problem?

Hi!

Does it click in well? Do you feel the click? Did you also replaced the rubbers?

If this is the case, you might want to check the connector on the motherboard where it connects to.

If this one is OK, I think it it's the motherboard having issues here.

Did you tried headphones, do they work?

@dan0 As I said, I already replaced the Flex cable. But still the same behavior. Tried to click directly on the flex. Connector looks good.

After a bit of googling I am quite sure it is a resistor near the connector.

Hi!

Sorry, I meant if you also feel the click on the replacement part. I'm pretty sure it is something on the motherboard. Replacing the resistor would be the next thing to do.

@dan0 My replacement part is working well. Do you know which resistor exacly is for the Vol+ Button?

Not 100% sure no. Maybe you can check this out: https://gbatemp.net/threads/volume-butto...

There is not a lot to find about it, except that more people are having the exact same issue as you...
